Why the silence Tash?

September 20th, 2009 § 0

Well, I’m trying to plan my life. Statistically, I’m 1/4 of the way through and I need to start doing stuff worthwhile.

Instead of using FreeMind, which has been fun to play with but didn’t really have staying power in my brain, I got a giant piece of cardboard and a black pen that I adore (the power a pen holds is not to be underestimated). I wrote the date in the middle and around it, what I wanted to accomplish in the next six months.

Gee – what a loser. But hey, if it works.

At first I wanted to keep this list to myself but my blog is suffering because of it, so now, you’re going to be part of the process of my grand adventure!

Little Flutters:

  • Even though I love my wordpress theme, I feel like it needs a little personalisation and exiting so stay tuned.
  • A resources page for those that are creatively inclined.

Spanish:

  • Learn at least conversational Spanish by my self-imposed deadline of my sister’s arrival to D.C – December this year.

Photography:

  • Take down any portfolio pictures currently online.
  • Do a drawing class to work on looking as light as a tool and help in composition.
  • Work on three projects to be completed by Feburary 2010.
  • Portfolio website to be launched by start of March.
  • Learn as much as possible from photographers that I admire.

Exercise:

  • Abs of steel.
  • Walnut cracking thighs (During a year of high school my friends and I wanted to do the laziest sport we could choose from in our curriculum: Power Walking. Every Thursday afternoon we would linger at the back of the mob of girls doing circles around the school, the teacher hot on our tails screaming “Walk faster ladies, I want you to crack walnuts with your thighs by the time I’m done with you!” At first she used to say “I want you to crack nuts with your thighs” but learnt the laughter that ensued wasn’t innocent 14 year old humour.) Anyway, strong thighs.
  • A right leg VMO that matches my left side. After a knee reconstruction and countless dislocations, I’m tired of always having my right knee as the weakest link. Especially if I’m going to do the trek to Machu Picchu.

Travel:

  • Watch Lonely Planet DVDs.
  • Talk to travel agents and look online for budgeting estimates.

And that, my friends, is that!
